The challenge of design is to strike a balance between comfort and style, practicality and ideal. And only baptism through time can we achieve eternity.

Preliminary analysis

Located in the Minhang District of Shanghai, the project is a Spanish Mediterranean-style building with a large mezzanine apartment. What's more interesting is that every building on the property is different in appearance and stone texture. Red brick and white walls, arched courtyard, green trees outside the windows, are famous for being typical of nature. The interior of the house is a traditional four-bedroom, two-room, two-room layout, which clearly does not meet her needs when it comes to this project, which seeks individuality and freedom and is still single.

Design concept

“The Architectural Maze” — a design concept inspired by the designer Tommaso's in-depth communication with the owner and combined with the actual situation of the project. At the same time, it is a quiet place in Shanghai's hard-to-find city, hidden among the trees and hidden away from the bustle of the city. “Man and Nature” was given by the designer The core of the spatial style design. Architecture often embodies the inner expression of a person, looking for self-identity and a sense of belonging, so designers wanted to create a sense of mystery, to break the “labyrinth” of interesting life in a single state of stillness, and to blur the boundaries of the interior and exterior, extending the vibrancy of the exterior to the interior, therefore in this Disturbed in a cluttered world, accompanied by the breath of nature, create a serene, free jungle world that belongs to the owner.

Icons of philosophy

At the beginning, the designer designed two lines of entry into the room, intersecting the movement lines, creating a sense of exploration for the owners and making the space more interesting. Step into the entrance gate, and you can see the curved wall. To ensure the privacy of the space, the designers adopted an unprecedented design method, barricaded with walls and two “invisible doors” at the entrance, forming a mysterious demarcation line with the world inside. At the same time, hide the shoe changing area in the wall, achieving a harmonious and unified space style. Entering the interior and facing an all-glass moving door at the end of the living room, the designer uses this pure, transparent material to blend the view of the interior and exterior, blurring the boundaries. Inside the house and outside the house, the seasons change more and more rapidly. The overall walls of the interior are covered with a refreshing milky coating with a creamy feel, with a mottled texture that feels like it has been washed over the years, with an endless taste of time. Since the designer did not install unnecessary barrier walls, the space is extremely transparent. And when it comes to the unremovable load-bearing pillars in the building, the designers are also careful to draw simple lines and brush the same color art paint in the interior. The overall look stands out, the form of the exhibition is extremely tense and blends perfectly into the overall atmosphere.

The island table, built of black stones, is unique here, bearing the dual functionality of aesthetics and practicality. The natural meandering texture adds a thick texture to this solid color space, while the minimalist western kitchen is just right for the everyday needs of single women who strive for quality. The living room abandons the traditional one-piece sofa and adopts a modular sofa free combination, which implicitly conforms to the designer's concept of freedom and sexuality. In order to give the owners more freedom of choice in this space, the designers made the living room fully connected with the balcony, fireplace, and bar counter. From this, the sense of space diffused, created a free and integrated, casual and interactive spatial order between the transfer. The fireplace is indispensable as a burden on the atmosphere of the space. When the bright yellow fire rises, it is as if instantly dragging one into a Siberian forest hut in the cold winter, warmth and tuft, creating a sense of crossing over space in a trance. In order to extend the outdoor landscape to the interior, the designers have boldly pioneered the design here, incorporating a small room bordering the terrace into the outdoors, creating a walk-through balcony that becomes an excellent viewing platform. Set up an outdoor fireplace while adding a sense of atmosphere, making it more of a sense of level and space.

The video room features a recessed design with a round curved sofa for an enveloping sense of security. In addition to this, it is worth mentioning the invisible sound, which designers consider in pursuit of the essence of nature and return to reality, hiding it all in the walls and bringing a 360-degree feast of sound to those who walk among them. The bedroom is open on three sides, which fully achieves internal permeability and smooth movement. Panoramic sliding doors to the balcony create transparent light. The design of the outdoor pool implies the concept of “coexistence with nature”, creating a warm feeling of “blooming towards the sea”.

Designers present storage and cloakroom in the form of a corridor, fully hiding these functional spaces, ensuring cleanliness and uniformity of the space. Walk through the narrow corridor and you come to the bathroom. The bathroom continues the overall texture, with a simple dark gray art paint as the main color and light brick marble with a natural texture, enriching the sensory experience.
