Dudi Ohayon, an architect from StudioDo, completed the design construction of the LV rooftop apartment. The project is located in a residential area of Tel Aviv and covers an area of 249 square meters. The plan was originally two apartments. In order to meet the needs of the owner couple, the previous floor was completely renovated, and the two apartments were combined into a family housing with spacious outdoor space.
The new flat includes a spacious living area, kitchen and dining space, a family office, a guest bedroom and a huge master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom. The design removes interior walls to open up space, sets floor-to-ceiling windows and uses brightly colored materials to let natural light from the west side into the room, creating a bright environment.
To enhance the openness and brightness of the space, the designers chose minimalist natural materials, including light stone bricks, walnut wood and brass lamps. Complementing the rich texture with natural materials, a sliding door made of red clay serves as the focal point of the space. A mesh-shaped brass lighting system guides people's eyes through a 20-meter-long living space, dividing the spacious apartment into different zones. In terms of furniture, the new contemporary furniture combines classic designs, while incorporating artwork from a range of local artists. There is no ceiling installed in the open living space, and a 12-meter-long air conditioning duct is exposed outside. The home office and living room are separated by a wooden sliding door system that can be connected when needed.
Huge kitchen in light beige tones with bold marble countertops. A 5-meter Nakajima straddles the kitchen space, integrating cooking and preparation areas, as well as informal dining space. The formal restaurant is surrounded by large windows, decorated with a classic Piet Hein dining table, two rows of Eames chairs and triangular brass lamps designed by Atelier Areti.
The spacious master bedroom differs from the living space after sliding doors made of red clay. Parquet floors are laid out on the floor. The master bedroom has a custom-made wooden walk-in wardrobe connected to the male and female master's private bathrooms. The outdoor terrace is an extension of the indoor living area, with a huge opening connecting the two spaces together. The roof terrace has an outdoor dining area, living room and kitchen, as well as a city garden.
