This is the second collaboration between Fayer and us. The house is located in the Xishan District of Kunming, right next to Dianchi Lake, and you can walk around Dianchi Lake for ten minutes by car. Because parents love Yunnan's climate and natural environment, they come here every winter and stay here for a little time, plus they usually come here to relax. Bought such a house as a second residence. After our deliberations, turning this “home” into a serene and serene theme will be shipped here with some of the art and books that Fayer originally collected in his home, continuing his feelings for home and allowing Fayer and his family to open up another life again.

The house is a semi-detached house with half a free space on the first floor. We want to use the first floor as their own living space, to solve everyday life needs while adding the function of an interest room and a video room. The first floor, as a living space for parents, wants to be able to integrate the kitchen and keep two rooms and improve the experience of using the space.

Design Achievements | Design results

Although it is negative on the first floor, the patio to the three rooms was given during the original architectural design, so during the day, all the rooms adjacent to the patio can have better lighting. We use the southeast facing darkroom as a video room, the northeast facing room as an interest room, stacking collections, musical instruments, reading, solitude, etc. A space that connects the west to the two rooms with a patio into a master bedroom suite, leaving the central location of the house for light work or tea to fill, creating an open composite space with more possibilities for the future.

The parent room is located on the first floor, which is more convenient for elderly people to enter. Originally the first floor was three rooms, the homeowner only needed two rooms, the other as a temporary guest room. We switched to the southwest to the room and kitchen near the kitchen, as a space for the dining room, which originally extended the living room to the balcony, making the space more Relaxation also adds to the light of the living room. The parent room uses the advantages of the room to set up three separate bathroom spaces. The space on the first floor is illuminated on both sides, adjacent to the public view, and the windows are green. ENTRANCE HALL | FOYER

There is no sense of style at this moment. But the quality is very calm.

It doesn't have to be a patio to create a natural space, combined with a window view. We have placed greenery near the ventilation, connecting hope and outdoor landscape, which both purify the air and bring immersive relaxation when you are visually vibrant. With no main lighting design, the light turns on different expressions according to different scenes, the space becomes layered and emotional.

CHEF | DINING ROOM

An integral stainless steel planter is planted on the side of the window. The tiger pyranid is warm and adaptable, and also has a good air purification effect, and the exterior view of the window creates a garden atmosphere for a restaurant. We turned southwest to the room and kitchen near the kitchen, as a dining space. The afternoon tea time sun had quietly shifted from the living room to the side of the restaurant. Sitting at the table, the blue flower outside the window was visible, the breeze was blowing, like feather leaves fluttering gently, ignoring the shadows of the dim trees. Leaves fell on the western kitchen counter, making it comfortable for people to visit. A room is reserved on the ground floor for temporary care with relatives. The room is located near the side of the guest room, ensuring the convenience of using the bedroom. NEGATIVE FIRST FLOOR | NEGATIVE GROUND FLOOR

The negative first floor is used by Fayer. The rotating staircase through the floor has been reinforced with beams, reinforced steel staircase structure, and the downstairs staircase opening moves clockwise to integrate six spaces such as bedrooms, wardrobes, multifunction rooms, utility rooms, video rooms and tea rooms.
The size of the table in the tea dining area is 2000*900mm. It is suitable for tea and light work. The high cabinet at the head integrates the water bar counter, storage, and an invisible door to the grocery store.

MASTER BEDROOM | BED ROOM

THE BEDROOM AND THE PATIO ARE SEPARATED BY FLOOR-TO-CEILING WINDOWS, BLURRING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR, ALLOWING THE PATIO GREEN TO EXTEND INWARD, SO THE ROOM ITSELF MAINTAINS AN ELEGANT LAYOUT, THE PALENESS OF THE PLAIN AND TRUE, THE NATURE OF THE PATIO IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OF THIS ROOM, IT GIVES PEOPLE RELAXATION, TRANQUILITY, AND THIS BEDROOM IS ALSO A SPIRITUAL HEALING HOUSE. Bedroom, dressing room, bathroom space are arranged on the same axis, soft film ceiling has been made to enhance the space lighting experience in the dressing room, wardrobe is half open and half closed, there are suitable storage options for both short and long stays. Fayer moved many of his favorite collections from his home in Beijing, not necessarily masterpieces of art, but he certainly loved them. There was a story behind everything. The collection was randomly placed in the corner of the room, like a familiar and taciturn old friend, perpetuating fayer's feelings and memories of home. In addition to collecting, Fayer also loves musical instruments. The whole room has been soundproofed, and the next time you move the drum rack, you can play it yourself. Slow down breathing, listening, observing, smelling, perceiving abilities become sharp during pauses, and when you are alone, the interior is always more frank and naked. It is a difficult time to have a quiet conversation with yourself.
