Designer Olga Omelchenko designed this small apartment for a young man who is the son of a frequent collaborator, the apartment has an area of 50 ㎡. The project is located in Beloretchensk, Krasnodar Krai. “The client is a follower of minimalism and a perfectionist; for him, functionality and comfort, as well as the privacy and intimacy of personal space,” says the designer. “I chose concise lines, natural materials and rationalist concepts.”
The main feature of the original layout is the semi-circular exterior wall of the house — it does not allow separate bedrooms, while keeping enough space in the kitchen and living room. The privacy of the seating area is located in a small independent space, divided by metal partitions. The solution also allows us to keep natural light entering all rooms.
When laying out, Olga Omelchenko tried to optimize the space. Thus, combining a balcony with a kitchen can organize a workplace and open up a city view. The kitchen area is hidden behind sliding elevations, which can hide the accompanying functional area and maintain the visual integrity of the interior. For the same purpose, walls and ceilings are painted in the same color.
