THE DESIGN EMPHASIZES THE AESTHETICS OF OBJECTS AS AN INTRINSIC VALUE RATHER THAN AS A NEUTRAL OCCUPANT OF HUMAN ACTIVITY. This concept is rooted in the richness of design itself and its transformative power both socially and economically. The basic concept of the design comes from the application of quantitative and qualitative parameter variables applicable to their background. THESE VARIABLES RANGE FROM QUANTITATIVE STANDARDS, SUCH AS THE DIRECTION OF BUILDINGS USED FOR SOLAR OPTIMIZATION AND NOISE REDUCTION, TO QUALITATIVE STANDARDS SUCH AS RESPECTING THE OPINIONS OF NEIGHBORING NEIGHBORS.

The directionality of the lines in the building has a force due to foreseeable natural forces such as gravity and earthquakes emanating from the earth. Horizontal architectures are more difficult to implement and build than vertical ones. When the body mass moves horizontally, this mass not only breaks and shrinks. The spatial layout originates from peeling and elevating the landscape in a spiral order to shape the floors of the project, and the layering follows the natural terrain of the land.

Unusual constraints. The main challenge of this project is to maximize function and space performance on a very small triangular plot with slopes. Zoning regulations impose challenging conditions on this two-family zoned site, which will prevent the project from taking place in the traditional side-by-side assembly method. The project is designed as two interconnected units formed along a spiral continuous platform that extends from the ground to the roof. This allows both units to utilize courtyards and decks while having a unique independent presence and entrance from either side of the two streets.
