Cultivate a rich life through simplicity and attention to detail (joy and satisfaction offered by refined spaces). Compared to those who are less sensitive, people with keen insight into details live more varied and rich lives. Observe the ever-changing hues of the sky during daily commutes, discern changes in the way people walk, and explain subtle differences in human interactions — the lives of people who pay attention to detail are complex, and their senses are highly coordinated. Attention to detail translates into a precise and rich taste experience. For example, the hexagonal design of the pencil prevents it from rolling off the table, while the dotted line on the envelope helps to open neatly and efficiently. These small and practical considerations generate deep feelings once they are noticed.
As the architect Mis Vanderdoes famously said: “Less is more.” Simplification is not limited to simple removal or monotone, but rather needs to satisfy basic functions while making them unobtrusive, avoiding aesthetic spoilage. The house has been carefully designed, incorporating hidden details and considerations, allowing residents to experience moments of inspiration and to accumulate deep happiness during their stay. This aging residence is located at the end of a residential alley and consists of two floors of space. Minimal adjustments have been made to the structure and tone of the original building. The exterior greening around the building is enriched and vibrant with the road-facing terraces, fenced terraces and second-floor terraces. As part of the process of focusing on simplicity, the entrance eaves and second-floor balusters use a minimum of metal materials. The act of entering and opening the door is pushed inside to protect privacy.
Zozo House is the residence of a couple in their 30s and their canine companion Zozo. The layout has been carefully designed with reduced space partitions such as walls or doors, allowing Zozo to roam freely. There are no separate room partitions apart from guest rooms and functional spaces such as bathrooms and wardrobes. Entering the first floor, you can see a long and dark corridor, at the end of which is an indoor garden surrounded by dark wood materials. Storage units on either side of the corridor can also be used as shoe racks to show the living room between the upper and lower compartments. Behind the area is the kitchen, where the sink and shoe rack seem to be connected to each other, but the functions are quite different.
In the living room on the first floor, two terraces will be found. One is a small outdoor terrace facing the outside and the other is a gentle indoor moss garden near the entrance. THE MOSS GARDEN AREA HOUSES THE BUILDING'S PURIFICATION POOL, ALTHOUGH IT IS POSSIBLE TO OPT FOR RELOCATION, THE DESIGN HAS BEEN RETAINED, CREATING AN OUTDOOR HAVEN. This way you can enjoy two different gardens, each with its unique characteristics and atmosphere. A ladder, the size of the stair platform, delineates the boundary between the base and the upper level, defined by the contrast material.
