In this suite of apartments in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the smooth layout seems to make organically designed furniture float in the integrated living space. This is how Natália Minas and Gabriela Mestriner conceived the project for RR Apartments, making extensive use of their original materials to create new things. Renovated to reflect the style of new residents, a young couple who enjoy entertaining and sharing moments with friends and family, the property puts the bar at the forefront of what constitutes — a hangout and social space.
The social area of the apartment is pre-dried as a whole, retaining only the original floor and creating a feeling of comfort through new textured and circular design ceilings, drawing a smooth transition between the ceiling and the walls. The bathroom has also undergone structural changes. The biggest challenge is understanding how to balance existing proposals and new proposals. How to reinterpret all the elements so that they coexist with today's architecture and decoration. NATI MINAS & STUDIO TRIES TO STRIKE A BALANCE BETWEEN THE ICY COLD OF MARBLE AND THE WARMTH OF THE INCLINED TEXTURE MADE IN PLACE. Or opt for new flooring and fine woodwork for your private area, adopting a more concise design that balances maintenance and painting with more refined kickboards and Fendi grey-toned shapes.
