The Alberto Alcocer residence in Madrid, Spain is a modern minimalist housing case carefully designed by De la Villa Studio. THE DESIGN TEAM REDESIGNED THE PREVIOUSLY SEGREGATED LAYOUT TO CREATE A LARGE PUBLIC SPACE WITH A SOCIAL CORE THROUGH AN OPEN AND FLUID LAYOUT. At the same time, the use of delicate materials and flexible structural design make this home the perfect balance between function and beauty.
The focus of this renovation is to remove the traditional dark enclosed corridor and unify the entire residence into a space that is both open and functional. At the same time, the design of humid areas is introduced into the core of the dwelling, which makes the whole more practical.
The design uses oak floors treated with water-based lacquer and custom fine carpentry, combined with materials such as Olivelo limestone, to give the house a visual effect that combines texture and warmth. The south-facing living and dining area has plenty of natural light thanks to continuous windows and a terrace that extends to the outside to further enhance the space's openness.
Residential storage solutions feature a concealed design that seamlessly integrates air conditioning equipment and other functional requirements into the space. The kitchen is located inside the residence, but the three large windows allow natural light to penetrate and, in combination with a limestone island table and an integrated storage area, ensure a seamless connection between the kitchen and the common space.
The private area is accessed through an oak corridor, and all three bedrooms are designed to combine function and comfort. The master bedroom is connected to the dressing room and the bathroom, while the bathroom is made of natural materials such as alabaster limestone and microcement, and is equipped with large mirrors to enhance the sense of space.
With a professional design approach, De la Villa Studio has successfully transformed the Alberto Alcocer residence in Madrid into a modern residence that combines openness, functionality and beauty. Whether it is the planning of social spaces, the use of materials, or the design of private areas, this house shows the limitless possibilities of minimalism and is the epitome of modern residential design.
