BM Resort Villas is located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, designed to be a weekend getaway destination for architects Gustavo Martinhão and Marcella Belluzzo. Adjacent to an environmental reserve, the plot inspired research into an architecture that cleverly blends into the landscape, breaking the boundary between residential and natural space.
The villa architecture is reduced to a minimum until it considers only basic spaces, which are condensed into three distinct cores, each core essentially dedicated to a single use: social, intimate, and service.
The kitchen and the restaurant form the same space and also integrate into the living room. The living room is separated by two pieces of glass, one fixed — facing the street — the other movable — facing the landscape. Hinged shutters along the front elevation control the entry of light and ensure occupant privacy while not blocking the view of the front garden. On the other hand, a frame that can be fully opened with its own axes as axes and slides, transforming the entire residential core into a large terrace integrated with outdoor platforms, swimming pools and forests.
The private core consists of the villa's three suite bedrooms, one of which is the master's room and the other two are for guest use. All en-suite bedrooms have direct access to the garden and offer magnificent views. Opposite is the integrated service area, including a covered garage, laundry and bathroom. Around the villa, a covered veranda surrounds the three cores, connecting all the enclosed spaces and playing the important function of an indoor-outdoor transition.
