204-floor villa design villa from Palomino Arquitectos, Calvia, Spain

Palomino Arquitectos was asked to build a home that felt like “space can flow” for a family in the southern Spanish region, the designer drew inspiration from liquid architecture and designed this elegant and unique family villa.

How to inject the feeling of the sea? An open, gentle exercise space? Design puzzles faced by designer Alejandro Palomino after listening to the needs of his clients. To create a liquid form for this 6-room family home, Alejandro Palomino collaborated with APM Mallorca. Together, the two companies incorporated the curved pattern of the ocean into the building, reflecting the nearby bays around Cop Negret and Malgrat Islands.

In order to see the image clearly, the designers decided to use a contrasting method of representation. Although the villa has a curved shape, the composition consists mainly of lines and edges. This overlap can be clearly seen between the two levels. ON THE FIRST FLOOR, THE EXTERIOR IS AIDED BY A LARGE AMOUNT OF STONE AND GLASS, AND ON THE SECOND FLOOR, THE DESIGNERS ADOPTED A MORE VARIED COMBINATION OF STRUCTURES. Cubes, semicircles, and diagonals blend together to create stunning contours that are both seamless (create flow) and separate (infuse personality). The clean white facade brings a sense of unity to the building, but on closer inspection, you'll find plenty of contrasting forms are at play.
