Located in Changsha, China Run Apartment It is a modern, minimalist style apartment designed by Hooray Lab. Through the delicate workings of spatial design and the interpretation of classical aesthetics, this project combines functionality with artistic flair. INSPIRED BY ANCIENT CHINESE POETIC AESTHETICS, THE DESIGN CONCEPT USES “CONCEALMENT AND DISCLOSURE” AT ITS CORE TO MAKE THE HOME ENVIRONMENT BOTH PRACTICAL AND EMOTIONAL. 1. Inspiration: The Aesthetics of Space Hidden and Revealed

Inspired by the aesthetics of the Tang Dynasty, the designers created a sense of spatial fluidity that is half-hidden and half-present, based on the concept of “hugging Biwa's face”. By removing most of the non-load-bearing walls, Hooray Lab creates an open space that challenges the traditional concept of room division. At the heart of the design is the application of “circular motion”, which allows public areas to form natural triangular flows while private spaces diffuse outward, both increasing space utilization and creating a sense of dynamism that moves with natural light.

The highlight of Run Apartment is the interaction between the three main public areas of the living room, study and restaurant. These areas are not separated by solid walls, but replaced by floor-to-ceiling storage units, providing both ample storage space and, as a sophisticated separation design, creating a layered visual effect. These storage units continue the aesthetic of traditional screens to guide occupants to a deeper level of spatial experience in a translucent way.

The design's main tones are based on white, with stainless steel, black details and selected wood elements, creating a timeless feel that exists between modern and classic.
