Preliminary Analysis

The project is located in the Jing'an district of Shanghai. It is a superimposed villa with a size of 75 floors, but the space is sparse.

1) A LOT OF UNSUITABLE WALLS DIVIDE THE ROOM, RESULTING IN THE ROOM NOT BEING ABLE TO GET THE MAXIMUM USE

2) There are two peeling daughters in the house, and parents want to take good care of them without interruptions, so they want the space to be as transparent as possible. After conducting a field visit, the designer understood the customer's needs and made targeted transformations, hoping that the home could become a haven of comfort.

Feel - Nature - Space Feel the natural space

HT DESIGN STUDIO IS COMMITTED TO THE CONCEPT OF FEELING SPACE AND RESPECTING NATURE. As Vincent Van Duysen said, “I used to be very eager to get into a state of balance so that as an architect I could handle space and light with tolerance, and then use beautiful, natural materials to create works full of human emotion. Write the order of the space in a calm way, depicting time in a way that draws away emotions from tolerance. Rezoning the 1st floor space: Remove all walls that block the view, leaving the entire first floor as open as possible.

Through an interpretation of the site, the designer uses Vincent Van Duysen's style of simplicity, removing the superfluous decoration of the space to the most original essence, a threaded connection between the interpretation of the terrain and the aesthetics of space. In the largest functional area on the first floor — the living room, the floor-to-ceiling windows on the right side connect the interior and the sun shines brightly into the room, and the light plays out the warm atmosphere, creating order. It is a ritual dedicated to living. A wicker chair with beautiful curves of radiance, a calm narration that speaks of a deposition after a hammer chain. Lying on the brown sofa in the afternoon, picking up a favorite book, the lazy cat stretches its back, life is like poetry. After removing the original barrier wall, the bar counter and living room become a whole, and the quiet protrusion of the tree next to the creeping branches becomes the perfect transition between the living room and the bar counter.

And the black marble bar stands out for its natural textured texture, thick and cold, and the matching colour of the back is perfectly blended. The staircase is the focus of the design, which runs through three levels of space. The openwork design reflects the concept of openness, expressing a deep meaning, where the sidewalk seems to have found an entrance to a dialogue with the building. “Let it interact with the users, and the talent will be impressed and then appreciated.” Life is like this, the hostess, in the process of choosing art murals in person, feels the language of the building, thereby determining the overall mood of the space. “The seasons change, the shadows change, and what remains is the true feeling of space”

REZONING THE 2ND FLOOR SPACE:
1) Combine the southernmost room into a large master bedroom, dismantle the wall that blocks the middle, and re-divide into a long strip cloakroom;
2) Divide the room to the right of the middle part into two toilets, belonging to the main and secondary bedrooms respectively;
3) Remove the excess wall on the northernmost side and divide it into two children's rooms.

Design is embodied in life, and art flows from space

The back wall of the main bedroom divides the space, the washroom area hides behind, and the smooth lines form the initial impression of space. And on the right, invisible to us, is the master's dressing room, thin in volume, discreet and discreet. These transparent and luminous atmospheres give weight to the pure material energy, as Vincent always replaces superfluous decoration with the texture of the material itself. The sun, sofas, coffee tables and greenery combine to create an open and soft place. The transparent floor-to-ceiling windows open the way between man and nature, both embracing space and connecting the mind.

Surprises are needed in life, building as it is. Hidden behind a seemingly flat dark gray solid wood cabinet, pull out the cabinet door, and the table and chair unfold with it, full of interest, without a hint of excess. A large wall mural, as if you want to decorate the wall into a large piece of art, filled with a gentle atmosphere. And an inky black artificial stone hangs here, creating a life-filled way of existence. “True luxury is the elegant atmosphere created by the rhythmic performance of space, light and structure.” REZONING THE BASEMENT SPACE: KEEPING THE WALLS OF THE STORAGE ROOM, REMOVING EXCESS WALLS, DIVIDING THE REMAINING SPACE INTO A CLOAKROOM FOR THE ENTRANT AND A GIRLFRIENDS SPACE THAT BELONGS ONLY TO THE MISTRESS.

Ceilings and walls use the same textured art paint treatment to create an all-encompassing, cave-like feeling of space. Time and light are carefully set in the design, and the sun drifts down from the skylight, and the calm and quiet is revealed.
