The home they wanted was not simple in the traditional sense, nor empty, but a sense of silence settled by the years. They want all spaces to be connected, naturally pure, free from the fatigue of the day.

The project replaced the living room and restaurant space and overlapped the functions of the original restaurant and tea room. In such a space, one side embraces the outside nature, on the other hand, dissociated from the everyday, social self, and immersed in the silent, timeless nature of nature.

Due to the constraints of the load-bearing wall, the spaces between them cannot be fully opened. Thus, through fragmented beauty, a special form of beauty is created. The texture of concrete collides with the texture of wood, giving the space a high level of “game” spirit that veers between “soft” and “real”. “Silence”, as a state of beauty, is a noble attitude to life. This beauty does not necessarily emphasize the decorative exterior, emphasizes the rustic interior, and is able to stand the test of time.

Walk into the interior, clean walls, wooden furniture, cotton linen curtains, or a cup of calendula in a few cases, without the unique beauty of “silence”. It is the silence of everyday life and the original taste. The design of the background wall is abandoned, leaving a more spacious space, and spending time together with calm and orderly time, is the aesthetic of comfortable living.

Master bedroom

The look of the bedroom is the best representation of their inner state of mind. The texture of microcement is just the right balance of roughness and cleanliness. The hollow layer of the background wall is the best alternative to the bedside cabinet. Although not flashy, it has a unique flavor. Living this “silent” life is not about becoming a suffering monk, but in order to cultivate an elegant and calm state of mind, and to better perceive beauty and happiness.
