Architect Crina Argyrescu Rogard has a truly rich international experience: she spent her childhood in Romania and Italy, was educated in Milan, worked in Paris, and opened her own studio in New York in 2013.
She designed the penthouse project at the iconic skyscraper at 432 Park Avenue, tackling two themes that are inseparable from the city itself — contemporary art and endless skylines.
The interior decoration is built around a collection of museum-quality works, including works by Richard Long, Maurice Louis, and Kenneth Noland. The architect decided to paint the walls white, create a gallery of white cubes, and fully open the square windows, so as not to interfere with the panoramic view of New York.
Furniture with sculptural shapes gives the space character, but does not take away all the attention, almost every item is worth considering carefully. The restaurant features a dining table designed by the owner of the penthouse, surrounded by chairs by Luigi Caccia Dominioni. Glass and smooth marble create a reflective effect that fills the space with light. The library has space for Vladimir Kagan's sofa and Lella and Massimo Vignelli's coffee tables. The architect herself collaborated with artist Liz Hopkins to design bold color decorations in yellow, blue and green, including coffee tables, desks and bookshelves in the living room.
