Studio Saxe decided to design and develop its first vertical sustainable building, proving that it is economically feasible to create a quality-of-life value building with large terraces and plantings under the constraints of the local economy.
Concept Concept
Studio Saxe's first vertical development was conceptualized as an opportunity to introduce typical gardens into vertical architecture to improve the quality of life for urban dwellers in the tropics. The automatic irrigation system allows plants to thrive on the terrace, creating a feeling of indoor and outdoor living.
Design Design
By creating a different terrace on each floor, the building gives personality to each dwelling. Even if the interior layout is the same, each apartment can create a varied and interesting relationship with the outside through a terrace that moves left and right. This not only protects the privacy on the street, but also prevents the sun from raining.
CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION
It is considered to be a concrete structure using prefabricated technology that can be quickly assembled on site, keeping the cost of the unit within a reasonable market value. This proves that it is possible to have large patios, plantings, umbrellas and many other technologies in a specific market, raising the perception of potential buyers to a new standard.
Landscape Landscape
Landscape design at Studio Saxe is key to creating an architecture that not only brings the wildness of the natural landscape into the city, but also incorporates passive technologies such as water catchment, and other strategies such as irrigation, plant control, and plant biology. This creates a true echo system with multiple plants that allows threatened species such as birds and bees to become part of the natural environment of the building and establish harmony with humans.
Interior Design Interior Design
Studio Saxe's interior design department coordinates all materials, kitchen design, bathroom design, and living and public spaces to combine the architectural theme of the city's evolving tropical charm. This sustainable and bioclimatic design allows materials and colors to coalesce from the inside out to create harmonious buildings that appear to be designed by like-minded people and designed for like-minded people.
Sustainability Sustainability
The apartment is conceived through a passive design strategy such as temperature control, which allows cross-ventilation within each apartment, so there is no corridor between the units. Large terraces at certain times of the day can be protected from the rays of the day, which, combined with parasols, also allow diffused light to penetrate and provide temperature control. Plantings on each patio allow the material to cool quickly. Plants inside buildings are irrigated through special filters, which collect rainwater and circulating water used by residents to create a self-sustaining cycle. The public area is located on the second floor and there is an orchard with edible plants, where residents can collect these plants for personal consumption.
